WHAT WON’T BE HAPPENING AT MY SESSION?
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are unable to provide the following:
- Water fountains – players must bring their own water bottle.
- A ball – every player must bring their own ball (some spares will be available for anyone who does not own their own ball).
- Space for spectators – No spectators are permitted in the venue. Parent/carers must attend screening with their child and then leave the venue or wait in their car.
What happens if the participant does not pass the pre-session screening process at home?
We want to ensure everyone takes the necessary precautions to keep each other safe. If the participant does not pass the screening process at home then they must not attend the session. We will replace any missed sessions once the participant is clear to return to play. To claim a replacement session, participants must inform us via email as early as possible so we can offer your place to another player.
What happens if the participant does not pass the pre-session screening process at the venue?
All screening questions at the venue should have been passed during the preparation checks before leaving home. If the participant does not pass the screening process at the venue then they cannot attend the session and must leave the site immediately. We will replace any missed sessions once the participant is clear to return to play. To claim a replacement session, participants must inform us via email as early as possible so we can offer your place to another player.
If the temperature test is failed at the venue we will take a further temperature check after a few minutes to double-check the reading is correct.
Will participants remain 2m apart at all times?
We will do our best to put precautions and instructions in place but there may be instances where players are retrieving basketballs or transitioning between playing areas and they get closer than 2m to another player.
Can spectators stay and watch?
Yes, but they must remain on their allocated spot while on the premises and meet their child at the exit gate to leave together. We recommend spectators wait in their car (unrestricted parking is available on surrounding streets) or, better still, take the opportunity for some exercise while the session is taking place.
Why are the sessions more expensive than usual?
In order to comply with government and school guidelines we must provide more staff and equipment at each session. This means a dedicated staff member responsible for registration and COVID-19 screening as well as more coaches on site to cover the much lower player-coach ratio that is now in force. We hope that our members recognise the worthwhile investment in safety and an even greater learning experience.
